A Little Background
Even before 1962, a number of efforts were made to bring the Major League Baseball to Houston. In fact, a new league called the Continental League was planned to be established, Houston being one of its supporters. The Houston Colt .45s was the name chosen for the team that joined the National League to play for 1962 season. The team got 8th position out of 10 teams in its first season. It was in the year 1965 that the team's name was changed to the Houston Astros.

The Astros have been incapable of winning any of the World Series title so far. In fact, they made only one appearance in the World Series in 2005, where they were defeated by the Chicago White Sox. Black, brick red and sand form the colors of the team. The team's logo consists of a five-pointed star with Astros written inside. 'The Stros' is the popular nickname of the team. The Colt Stadium was the first ballpark for the team. The Astrodome was used for the same purpose till 1999. At present the team plays at the Minute Maid Park.

Baseball is my fovourite sport, I always like to tune my television to the channel which shows me a baseball match. of all the teams i like Houston Astros team very much. They seems to be very energetic and they have been entertaining the world with good baseball. I also like the coach of the team who trian them with good techniques and encourages them, especially on the fields. And Houston Astros team is attracting the people towards the game. |

I like the Houston Astros team very much. Because they inspire the youngsters very much with their matches, their dedication and sincierity make people attract towards them. Each of their matches are very exiciting, and by the end of the day we get satisfied of watching good baseball. I like their team spirit. I like playing base ball, Houston Astros is my favourite team. I like their team spirit very much. And i like the way they defend themselves when the match is going against them. They are more serious on the fields . They are more dedicated towards the game they always try to learn new techniques in the game,which adds their number of matches won. i never miss their match. I went with my friends to see the final baseball match in World Series. the match was so excited. The match was really tough. The audience were enjoying the match with little tension. The winning team for that series was Houston Astros. That was really a wonderful moment for the team because They won the series for first time and they did it because of their team work and spirit. We enjoyed the match very much. I really suggest the people to watch the Houston Astros game. You will really enjoy it.
